The School for Advanced Studies (SAS) is a Miami-Dade County Public High School housed on four Miami Dade College campuses. Our high school teachers, counselors and administrators are Miami-Dade County Public School employees certified by the State of Florida in their subject areas. SAS adheres to MDCPS guidelines and policies. SAS students enroll in four high school classes and follow a modified block schedule during the afternoon of each school day. Each morning students sign in at homeroom prior to their college classes. Students are required to remain on campus until dismissal after high school classes at the end of the school day.
Students and parents have full access to the MDCPS portal and can monitor their high school grades and attendance at all times. SAS distributes MDCPS report cards and progress reports as scheduled by the District. High school teachers are available for tutoring and mentoring in the mornings when students have a break in their college schedule.
Although the high school curriculum is rigorous, faculty and staff provide a supportive and nurturing environment.
